New Sketchbook

I have taken it upon myself to start a "real" sketchbook. Put in things that inspire me including writing and pictures and also drawing/paint in it, daily. I will use some references but the important thing is to work in it, every day.
I have misplaced my camera's battery and charger therefore, pictures might be through my phone if I decide to take any. I am not happy about it, either -_-;;
Been watching Interior Design "reality" shows. Painting the rooms in the amount of time they give the contestants and then expecting perfect results for finished room is a load of bull. I know they signed up for torture but, man!
Slowly, I find myself creeping out of the ocean to evolve back into a possible former stage of creative being, but still so very far away - I have not been able to balance out with a proper feeling of daily achievement and socializing - two things I realize I need to keep me thinking, "now what?"

  1. I'm going through a similar evolution in creativity, and I just want to encourage you to keep it up. I find the act of artistic creation incredibly rewarding, and with a gift like yours, I'm sure great rewards are coming your way.

    - Ehab (The Guy Behind The Counter At Newbury Comics Who Asked About Your Blog A Little While Ago) <-- believe it or not, that is one of my official titles.

    P.S. Email me sometime. I'd love to talk more about our work, our blogs, and our struggles.

  2. Nice to virtually meet ya! I'm now following Random Battles, too.
    Thanks for the compliment (I try to file them away for times when they are needed). I am liking Clip and Art, so far.
    Yes - it is important for comrades and peers to stay in touch when struggling in the field of arts and creativity. As it is- I'm trying to keep a small group of Illustrators from Chester College together for strength and support.
    PS - How'd you get that title?

  3. You're welcome, and thank you for following RB and liking Clip and Art!

    It's good that you have the support of peers from your school. A lot of the time, I feel like I'm getting into the art game so late that I have to scramble to make connections with people in this community, both online and in person.

    As for the title, it's a fairly compelling story: A little while ago, I was standing behind the counter at Newbury Comics when I overheard you talking about your blog. It seemed interesting, so I asked you about it. Spellbinding, huh? If you like that one, you should hear the story behind "The guy who accidentally exploded an entire two liter bottle of Coke at the grocery store last week and didn't stick around to help clean it up."

    ... I have a lot of these titles.

  4. Oh. I like to think some mysterious force of nature just bestows titles upon me when appropriate. That's more exciting than the truth, which is that I give them to myself.

  5. It's cool. You know yourself best - so who better to give you titles? It adds a bit humor to life and that's always good!
